PERSEPHONE _ happily ever after reinterprets Schubert's Death and the Maiden as a contemporary ritual of transformation. The body is treated as a site of passage, where roles, genders and meanings continuously shift. It is the second chapter of a "carpet series": short performative acts built on iconic orchestral scores and conceived for non-conventional spaces. Here the carpet becomes a symbolic ground, a limbo and a living skin that retains memory and welcomes change: a threshold between life and death, masculine and feminine, identity and metamorphosis. Schubert's score acts as a ghostly, structural presence. It resists, deforms and is crossed by an original urban, electronic composition, creating friction between different aesthetic and temporal systems. The myth of Persephone is used as an operative matrix rather than a narrative: death as the deactivation of forms that no longer function, rebirth as a temporary re-organisation of bodies, meanings and relations. The piece moves from fragmentation toward renewal.
