ISH _ happily ever after
ISH _ happily ever after
ISH _ happily ever after is the second chapter of a "carpet series": short performative acts built on iconic orchestral scores and conceived for non-conventional spaces.
They say every story needs an ending. Set to the Andante con moto from Schubert’s Death and the Maiden, ISH _ happily ever after brings two performers into a space that shifts between the familiarity of a domestic setting and the emptiness of an undefined landscape. Through gestures, physical encounters and everyday rituals, they explore the ways we prepare for endings, say goodbye and try to come to terms with loss. Moving between tenderness and awkwardness, solemnity and absurdity, the two bodies negotiate the fragile boundary between holding on and letting go. What appears to be a final farewell gradually becomes something less definite: a transition, a transformation, perhaps the beginning of something else.
Because an ending does not necessarily erase what came before. It changes what comes next.
Happily ever after. Ish.
